SHE WHO FLIES WITH DOVES
Author:
Sharon
Kull
She
Who Flies With Doves
is the most unusual novel in the
Native American genre that I have read
to date and Ms Kull’s writing style
is very unique. However this is not a
book for the reader that eschews
violence. The dove historically has
been a symbol for peace but Mary,
whose Apache name is also the book’s
title, is anything but a peaceful
character. Conflicted by her
half-breed status and seething with
hatred for the men who brutalized her
and her family, she endures the rigors
and dangers of traveling alone across
the desert and through the mountains
of the arid American Southwest during
her two year vendetta against those
who have wronged her.
