Michael is a writer and wishes to write the great American Novel. For now his conquest is finding the right woman to fit in and out of his life.
Dawn met Michael while out walking her Cocker Spaniel. Just like him, she inherited early in life, helping with her finances, and she too dedicates her life to the arts.
Michael lost his father when he was in his teens, leaving him independently comfortable and spending his time writing. Because of his father’s infidelity, he wonders if it messed up his life growing up. For a long time he held his father to blame for not giving his mother the happy paradise she wanted in her life. Michael soon grows desire for many women. When he sees a woman that strikes a sensation in him, they normally end up together. With each woman, he learns a lesson in itself. After meeting Dawn, he feels she might just be the perfect soul mate for him. As Michael lives each day he soon learns life and love hold its own little secret that one must discover on their own.
Feeding the Squirrels is a story of a man’s quest to find something absent in his life. Even though Michael searches with many women to find that one link, the reader wonders if his father had been more sensitive to his family’s needs and not been unfaithful, would Michael have been different. Roy L. Pickering Jr. paints a picture of a man trying to find his own identity, while giving thought to what is really important in life. Even though I do not agree with Michael’s promiscuous ways, there were many women that Michael met along the way that left a lesson in itself.

Ever wondered what goes through the mind of a single man who seems to be afraid of commitment? I believe that you will find the answer in Feeding the Squirrels by Roy L. Pickering Jr. One man, Michael, recalls some of the many trysts he had with women. In his mind, he likes to make sure a woman is pleasured the right way, but once they start showing signs of someone who wants more, they are shown to his revolving bedroom door. When it seems like Ms. Right has finally dawned his doorstep, his actions catch up with him. The outcome will leave you speechless.
Feeding The Squirrels by Roy L. Pickering Jr. will have you shaking your head from side to side, all the while wanting to know more. My reading experience was impacted by a few editing mistakes and I wished the women were more vocal. If you are looking for a quick read to enjoy, this e-book, novella, with a little more than sixty pages, would be my recommendation.

No Limits for Pleasure
The novella, FEEDING THE SQUIRRELS, penned by Roy L. Pickering, Jr. is a glimpse into the mind of a man whose sexual desires know no limits or boundaries where women are concerned. The main character, Michael, is a writer, philanderer, conceited and wealthy playboy who spends his time searching for his next conquest while attempting to pen the greatest novel. Chapter by chapter he details the different women he conquered and the roles he plays to win his next lay.
FEEDING THE SQUIRRELS is an interesting account of one man's deception in manipulating women for sexual satisfaction, until he is faced with devastating consequences. This book will enlighten women to the games some men play and will hopefully encourage women to take better care of their hearts. It is an enjoyable, funny, serious and revealing read. Although the story is well-developed and the characterization is strong, the novella can greatly benefit from another edit, as there are some minor grammatical problems that hinder the flow in some areas. Single women can benefit from this author's account of what it takes to bed a woman before moving to the next victim.

Feeding the Squirrels introduces you to Michael, a ladies man who takes you on a path of his life. With each chapter you get introduced to another woman and another story until the very end when the characters are woven together in an ending you would never expect.
Michael meets a variety of women, from a grandmother, to a lawyer, each one with an interesting background and interaction with the main character. Vivid descriptions and dialogue keep the story flowing in a unique way. And like with every story with love, lust and romance, drama is well included.
Feeding the Squirrels is a well written look at one character's life. The storylines mesh well, and intertwine in a surprising ending. Feeding the Squirrels gives you an intriguing look into the short lived relationships of Michael's life, some having much more lasting impressions and effects on Michael than one could imagine.

4 stars (out of 5)
At the center of "Feeding the Squirrels" is Michael, a modern-day Casanova. He plays with women's hearts, minds and bodies without so much as a care or concern. But there's a thin line between lust and hate.
As each chapter describes a different sexual conquest, author Roy Pickering Jr. gives readers more insight into Michael and just how far he's willing to go to get what he wants - carnal pleasure. "If all she wants is a good time, she gets everything. If she wants more, I lie and take what she has to give. Then I move on."
"Feeding the Squirrels" was a very quick and enjoyable read. Pickering created a character that readers won't quickly forget. I like the author's style.
