Eric puts his own fanciful twist on the early settling of America as he takes the reader from his birth in 1736, into the twentieth century, explaining many of history’s mysteries along the way. This handsome devil, born to Mother Leeds in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, admits he had a hand in some of the more sinister sides of history, but Eric also gives man credit where credit is due. This dark fantasy is a must read for those who love things that go bump in the night.

The story of the Jersey Devil has confounded many people since the 17th century. In THE DEVIL'S TALE, Eric Leeds has some fun with the reader as he lays out the Devil's unique perspective of American history and in the process visits the White Stag and the Pine Barrens among other stops along New Jersey folklore. This book is spooky and fun, along the lines of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and it contains a riddle that can only be solved by finding all of the rock groups mentioned in it.
