From Time for Crime...
Her mind intensely preoccupied, Cassie Wyler did not realize that someone had been following her until a thin film of polyurethane suddenly covered her face, and she was yanked back against a solid body.
She'd been thinking about how the department store's late evening sale on linens had exceeded her highest hopes. She was so pleased with her purchases, that it hadn't mattered if she was having a tough time carrying three large and heavy logo sacks to her car, across the artificially lit parking lot.
Cassie could visualize her new floral design comforter on her king size bed, bars in both bathrooms draped with thick pile towels in several sizes. Twenty new wash cloths meant she would no longer have to run an extra load of laundry in the middle of the week. Her daydreaming had become her downfall.
Unable to breathe, her battle for life was short, as it had been for four other hapless victims in the recent past.
