From Salome & Sheba's First Christmas...
"Do you know what Christmas is?" Phoebe asked. "No, of course you don't. How could you? You're only eight months old." Kneeling down in front of the cage, Phoebe watched while Salome and Sheba finished off their breakfast. "On Christmas day," she explained, "all good little children wake up to find that Father Christmas has left them some presents! Everyone gets presents at Christmas. Perhaps Father Christmas leaves presents for good little rats too!"
Phoebe took the empty bowl out of the cage and back into the kitchen, leaving Salome and Sheba snuggled up together with their tails wrapped around each other. Their tummies were full and they felt warm all over. They loved winter breakfasts.
