From Gypsy Pie...
“Hello! There anybody here?” she shouted in and out of the garage.
No one replied.
Nervous now, Debbie drew her gun and, stroking the trigger, walked into the garage quickly and searched it thoroughly. She ran to the rear wall and crouched next to the door leading into the back of the house via the basement. The door was open also. Darkness, coldness and airborne dirt choked the passage. Debbie thought of plunging into the basement.
“Settle into yourself, girl, wait a little longer,” the girl muttered to herself. She thought she smelled something bitter like burnt almonds. More nervous, she continued to talk to herself.
“The house, I might go up through the back, the back has four windows—two for each floor—and only the top two are lit. So whoever’s inside saw me go in here, probably; but he or she or they can’t know who I am.”
Debbie took a deep breath. “JEREMY! THAT YOU?”
