From Roberta: The Faerie Tales...
Quinn picked up the bottle and studied it carefully. An intricate spectrum of colours flashed as he rotated the bottle to the light. Could it be possible that this bottle may have been manufactured during the period when fairytales may have been an actuality? Could Ezra Wrench have been right in suspecting his neighbor of being so much more than a senile senior citizen? Although, Gwen hadn’t really arrived at anything which substantiated Ezra’s claims. She had merely discovered that science could not disprove the veracity of Ezra’s claims. Ultimately, Gwen’s findings are inconclusive. In disappointment, Quinn was just about to utter these very words when Gwen, sensing Quinn’s skepticism rising to the fore, continued with her argument.
“I know what you’re thinking – this doesn’t really prove the bottle is an antique, only leads us to conclude that it may be old. So I decided to study what was in the bottle as well.”
Quinn looked up from studying the bottle, puzzled.
“In the bottle? But it’s empty.”
“Seemingly.” Gwen took the bottle from Quinn and positioned the lid under the microscope. She looked through the viewer before moving aside to invite Quinn to have a look himself.
