Being Native American is what I am; being Salish is who I am. I am a fifty-something college Junior at California State University at Sacramento and I am majoring in both History and Ethnic Studies. My hope is to continue in my education to get my Master's degree in History so I can teach NA history on the community college level. I am the grandmother to six lively, rambunctious, mischievous, grandsons: Dustin, Noah, William, AJ, Gabriel, and Dylan. When I first became a grandmother, I told my kids not to expect me to become a cookie baker and I haven't! Instead, I tell stories, stories that excite my grandchildren, stories that tell them about their heritage, and stories that answer questions.
